Rookie Choice beats the veteran Roughnecks!

The first win of the season for Choice was a stellar game where the rookies led the team to an overtime win against the veteran Roughnecks. Veteran Toby Salamon provided a sturdy, defensive, base for the rest of the team to flourish off of. Rookie goalie Will Pearce had some amazing saves against veterans Marcus Hine and Owen Vickers who gave Pearce a tough time for his very first game in the BHL. Meanwhile, rookies David Talbot and Jack Mitchell were making amazing plays by getting behind the defence and creating opportunities where it was just themselves and the net. With this strategy, Mitchell was able to score a phenomenal five goals while Talbot had one for himself. The Roughnecks had Vickers and Hine who were able to use their incredible synergy to make some amazing plays. Vickers had a breathtaking goal in the final five seconds to time up the game and send it to overtime where they ended up losing. Andrew Ukrainek also played some amazing defence with many shutdowns near and on the line creating some super intense moments. All in all, the rookies were able to show the veterans that they can play with the big dogs.

Roughnecks start the 2021-2022 season with a bang!

The first game of the RSGCBHL season will be a game to remember. After a long drought from the league, the boys came fired up ready to play their first real game since the end of the 2019-2020 season. Seasoned veterans, Marcus Hine and Mr. Fowler helped show the new Roughnecks what the league is all about. Hine scored a miraculous four goals and rookie Jack Hulford had an impressive three goals of his own. The Roughnecks rookie goalie, Adam Papoushek, also had a stellar game with nine saves, mostly coming from the Choices very own, Owen Vickers. The Choice had their fair share of moments while still being down three players, Vickers scored two great goals with an assist from Toby Salamon. All in all, It was an impressive showing from everyone who gave it their all in a great first game of the season.
